April Fool Easter 'Eggstravaganza'
Many old versions of games were played as Form 3X took over Swallows for half an hour in their ‘eggstravaganza’.
Everyone helped to organise the event and had great fun in raising an eggciting £243.85p. Thanks to all who supported us.

Comic Relief
Swallows Hill pupils were, as usual, involved in fundraising for this worthwhile cause. All junior pupils were allowed to ‘Wear Something Red’ for a donation to the charity and they arrived wearing a wide assortment of noses, hats, socks, hairbands, etc. There were sponsored events in 5Y and a competition organised by some 3Y pupils.  A total of £292.50 was raised. Thanks to everyone involved in any way in the fundraising for this event.

Pakistan Flood Relief

The Malik family organised a highly successful cake sale and raffle last term, raising £267 for the relief of flood victims in Pakistan.  Amina, now taking a gap year after her A-levels, helped her mother to make delicious cakes while Amman (S1X) took responsibility for the raffle with the help of his friends Tariq Pathan and George Miles.
The money has been sent directly to a family friend, Dr Farukh Hasanain, who has opened a dispensary in one of the affected areas.  He writes: 'With a small team of colleagues I took medicines to Jampur, where we found three-quarters of the city inundated.  The locals were very excited when we established a medical camp there.  Now that the water has subsided we have opened a clinic run by volunteer doctors and are overwhelmed by the response: over 300 grateful patients from very poor backgrounds visit us every day.  I thank you all for your generosity.'

Operation Christmas Child
Twycross House again joined forces with The Hollies in November to provide shoe boxes packed with Christmas presents for distribution to deprived children in Europe and Africa under the auspices of the charity Samaritan's Purse.  As on previous occasions everybody found it great fun to squeeze as many items as possible into brightly decorated boxes.  Our thanks to all the pupils and parents who helped to fill the collection van with good cheer.
